Philip Prokop, a 42-year-old father from Shelton, Conn., has been arrested after allegedly paying a 17-year-old girl $21 to attack a 13-year-old he suspected of bullying his daughter, WTNH-TV reports.
But Prokup said he only approached the teens to ask them to stop the alleged harassment.
"I introduced myself and who I was and who my daughter was and I told them to stop bullying my daughter," Prokup told the station. "And the next thing there was a girl on the ground. The girl that bullied my daughter was on top of that girl beating her face in."
According to Shelton Patch, Prokup was arrested after police alleged the father paid the teenager to beat up the suspected-bully and also grabbed another 13-year-old to stop her from getting involved.
But Prokup told WTNH the claims are simply not true.
"In broad daylight I'm gonna hire a girl to something," Prokup said, according to the station. "It just doesn't make any sense."
The 42-year-old was charged with inciting injury to a person, risk of injury to a minor and conspiracy to commit a third-degree assault. Prokup was released on a $10,000 bond and is set to appear in court on Monday, NBC Connecticut reports.
